Reopen update for May, 2020!

Here’s our latest update:
I am sure at least some of you have heard that Governor Brown is allowing for clinics to reopen for non-emergency procedures – with caveats. This includes reduced patient load to allow for requisite safety measures to be undertaken, including avoiding waiting with other people in waiting areas, disinfecting of the clinic and treatment rooms as well as pre-visit screening. While in the clinic all patients and practitioners will be required to wear masks. Patients are allowed to wear cloth masks that they must bring with them.
SO, we can finally restart scheduling patients. (Yippee!) Since we need time between patients to disinfect the treatment room, the schedule will be somewhat cumbersome at first. Also, we haven’t gotten to the point yet where we can restart the community acupuncture. We’re working on that and will keep you posted. For everyone’s safety, we need to have procedures in place.

It is a relief that we are at this stage, but I also know we need to be cautious. I believe, though, that it’s important to have access to care.

In good health and wellbeing,
Mia

COVID-19 and canceling community acupuncture

Good Morning,

It is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision to cancel all our community acupuncture shifts for at least the next 2 weeks. It is becoming increasingly clear that this is the socially responsible thing to do for the health of our community, as everyone pulls together to slow the spread of the Coronavirus. This is a very uncertain time, and much could change, but our current plan is to re-open on Monday, March 30th.

This closure is effective starting tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17th, for the 10am shift.

We are hoping to reopen on Monday, March 30th, and will let you know as the day approaches what our plans are.

We are, for the time being, still seeing patients 1-1. If you want to know more about that, please let us know.

Thank you and please, take care. These are hard times and supporting each other as best we can is crucial.

Also, I will continue to post what I consider to be important and helpful info on the clinic FB page.

In solidarity,

Mia

Covid 19 response

There are many articles out there on Covid 19, and a lot of worry and a lot of uncertainty. Montavilla Community Acupuncture, with the aid of colleagues in and outside of Portland, will be offering vetted articles and advice as things progress. For the time being, we are open as usual for both individual and community acupuncture. Not surprisingly, we are asking people with upper respiratory tract infections to avoid coming in to the community acupuncture setting unless they have tested negative for Covid 19. This is to protect our vulnerable population as much as anything. Thanks for understanding and don’t hesitate to ask questions or give input. These are trying times but I believe we can support each other as a community to get through these days as well as possible.
